Drew McIntyre Plans To Win WWE Money In The Bank And Cash In At Clash At The Castle

Drew McIntyre has once again called his shots a few months away from WWE Clash at the Castle.

The SmackDown Warrior previously declared that he would face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the show. Now, he doubled down on his claim during an appearance on WWE’s The Bump by stating that he intends to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and subsequently face the champion. He also noted that he’s fine with having a title match on any show.

“That’s me setting my short-term goals,” McIntyre said. I’ve found, especially over the past few years when things started going right in my career and life, I would set myself short-term goals and smash those short-term goals instead of setting a long-term goal without any long-term goals. So I wanted to tell the world okay I’ve been on these long flights back and forth to the UK. Money in the Bank’s coming up, I’m gonna work my way into that match, I’m gonna earn the right, I’ll call my shot right now, when I win the Money in the Bank briefcase, I put that match out there.

“I want the champion, no matter who it is, Roman Reigns, Riddle, I don’t care who. I want that match at Clash of the Castle. At the same time, if it happens on SummerSlam, if it happens on SmackDown, if somebody comes out and says hey Drew, do you want a title match, I’m gonna say yes, obviously. I’m just setting myself goals. I’m just putting it out there and I’m just working towards those goals.”

The former champion then described how “The Tribal Chief” has been on another level, but he knows he can take Reigns down. McIntyre also referenced Reigns’ new contract and stated that he doesn’t hold it against him.

“His confidence is at an all-time high, as it should be,” said McIntyre. “I’ve always known how good Roman is, he’s always been incredible in the ring. It was always holding back in a certain way and I guess that was his character and who we was outside the ring. Because in the end, that’s the real Roman. He’s all about him or his family, as he claims. But inevitably he’s all about himself and since he embraced his true self, he’s gone to levels that most of us could never even have imagined. Good for him. Bad for us, he’s got both the titles, he’s not on all the shows. We need those titles back, and I don’t hold it against him.

“He didn’t offer the contract, he signed the contract. So if he’s not always there, then that’s cool. But we need those titles back. We need somebody to step up . We need someone to take him down. He knows what I’m all about these days. He fought this version of Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series. He faced me at Backlash when we stepped in the ring together. He knows what I’m capable of. I get through his family, I get to Roman Reigns, he knows I can take him down.”
