Matt Cardona vs. Alex Shelley

Cardona comes out to the ring with his classic “Radio” theme song before it transitions into his newer music. He cuts a promo and says, “We need to get the Effy out.” Cardona calls GCW “bush league” and repeats that Detroit is not a B town; it’s an F town. He says he wasn’t even supposed to wrestle tonight; he was supposed to be the celebrity guest host, but now he has to face Alex Shelley. Cardona says he doesn’t care about having good matches, and Shelley won’t bring GCW any buzz.

Cardona riffs on Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and recites the opening verse as he insults Shelley. Finally, he says he is GCW, and he’s the Deathmatch King before Shelley, the Detroit native, makes his way to the ring.

Cardona quickly leaves the ring to collect himself after the opening minutes. The two competitors feel each other out. Cardona drops Shelley with a shoulder block. Shelley fires back with a heel kick, and Cardona leaves the ring again. Cardona takes a microphone and takes back what he said about Shelley and Detroit. He pitches doing what Hogan and Jarrett did at Bash at the Beach, as he doesn’t feel like finishing the match. Shelley takes the fight to him and chases him out of the ring.

Shelley grabs Cardona below the belt and walks him around before he locks in a mandible claw. Cardona fires back with a basement slide and takes control. He rips his shirt off, flexes and beats Shelley with his shirt. Shelley fires up with a flurry of offense, and he hits the Codebreaker for a two count. Cardona gets another two count with a Killswitch.

Cardona accidentally hits the referee with the Internet Championship, and Shelley drops Cardona with a DDT on the title. Chelsea Green runs to the ring and attacks the replacement referee who tries to count the pin. Cardona hits Shelley below the belt and clotheslines Allie Katch when she tries to make the save. Effy attacks Cardona, but the champion and Green double-team him.

Green accidentally hits Cardona with the title, and Effy drops her with the Rough Ryder. Shelley hits Cardona below the belt, and Effy drops him with the Rough Ryder. Shelley pins Cardona for the win.
