Backstage, Charly gives us an update on Mysterio’s condition. Mysterio is on his way to a local medical facility. They may be able to save Mysterio’s eye, but it’s unclear as of right now.
Ziggler announces that this match will be Extreme Rules… but for him only. If McIntyre tries to leave or get disqualified Ziggler wins the title.
Extreme Rules WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler immediately goes outside the ring to get a weapon. McIntyre cuts him off and sends him into the ring post. McIntyre sends Ziggler back into the ring. McIntyre launches Ziggler clear across the ring with a belly-to-belly. McIntyre sets up for the Claymore. Ziggler rolls out of the ring. McIntyre follows. Ziggler rakes McIntyre’s eyes. Ziggler pulls a chair from under the ring. McIntyre blocks it and yanks the chair out of Ziggler’s hands. McIntyre thinks about it but eventually tosses the chair out of the ring. McIntyre catches Ziggler’s superkick. McIntyre suplexes Ziggler again. McIntyre clotheslines Ziggler over the top rope.
Ziggler sends McIntyre into the ring post. Ziggler sets up a table. McIntyre lifts Ziggler up for a suplex through the table but McIntyre spins and drops Ziggler on the opposite side of the table. McIntyre is frustrated. McIntyre tosses Ziggler back into the ring. Deadlift powerbomb by McIntyre. Ziggler kicks out. Ziggler kicks McIntyre in the nuts. Ziggler hits McIntyre with a chair over and over again. Ziggler and McIntyre fight to the outside. McIntyre tries to suplex Ziggler off of the announce desk. Ziggler escapes and hits a fameasser off the announce table. McIntyre is almost counted out but manages to get back in the ring before the 10 count.
Ziggler avoids McIntyre’s dive and slaps on a sleeper hold. McIntyre gets to the ropes but there are no rope breaks for Ziggler. McIntyre manages to escapes. Ziggler sends McIntyre into the ring post twice. McIntyre responds with a lariat. McIntyre slingshots Ziggler into the barricade. Back in the ring. McIntyre reverse Alabama slams Ziggler. McIntyre tries the Claymore but Ziggler hits McIntyre with a chair. Zig Zag by Ziggler. McIntyre kicks out. McIntyre sends Ziggler out of the ring. McIntyre follows and gets superkicked. McIntyre lands on a table. Ziggler hits a flying elbow off the top to put McIntyre through the table. McIntyre is almost counted out again. McIntyre gets back in the ring at 9.5. Ziggler screams in frustration. McIntyre headbutts Ziggler. Ziggler hits another Zig Zag and a Rock Bottom on a chair! McIntyre still kicks out. Ziggler hilariously yells “why won’t you die!” Ziggler calls for the Superkick. McIntyre kips up and hits a surprise Claymore for the win!
Winner and STILL WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre!
