The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever: Edge vs. Randy Orton
For the introductions, a MSG mic fell from the ceiling and Howard Finkle’s voice was used for the intros. Edge and Orton lock up. Edge and Orton trade arm drag, Orton puts on the breaks. Edge hits the mat, hard. Orton and Edge trade pin and submission attempts. Neither can get a clear advantage. Edge escapes a head-scissors but as he tries to lock in a headlock Orton quickly avoids him. Orton laughs as Edge wonders what happened. After a tackle and dropdown spot, Orton trips Edge on the step over. Edge falls out of the ring. Edge tries to collect himself. Edge baits Orton into running into a big boot outside the ring. Orton kicks out. Edge puts Orton in a modified hammerlock.
Edge works over Orton’s shoulder. Orton struggles to his feet. Orton stomps on Edge’d foot. Edge sends Orton careening out of the ring with a head-scissor. Edge goes up top. Orton cuts Edge off with a few stiff right hands. Orton sets up a superplex to the outside. Edge lays in a few shots to Orton’s gut. Edge headbutts Orton of the top. Orton lands on the apron. Edge dives off the top and clotheslines Orton off the apron. Both men hit hard. Orton is busted open. Edge slams Orton’s arm into the padded concrete floor outside the ring. After a Russian leg sweep Edge puts Orton in the crossface.
