They brawled on the outside of the ring but ultimately Black got the better of it and threw Johnny in the ring and the match officially began. Black took control early on with his signature combination strikes but was countered by Johnny Gargano who tried to slingshot him into the cage but Aleister gained his balance and ended up hitting a Moonsault off of the cage wall.

A little while later, when black was climbing the cage, Gargano shake the rope which caused Aleister to fall down and crotch himself on the ropes. Johnny lawn darted Black into the cage and hit him with a superkick.

Johnny would try for a pin but get a two. Black would regain control and find himself climbing the cage again but Johnny Gargano would catch him with an amazing Russian leg sweep off of the cage into the Gargano Escape. Black would power out of it and lawn dart Johnny back first into the cage. Aleister would attempt to hit the Black Mass but Gargano would trap his leg within the ropes and nail him with another superkick. Gargano would attempt a repeat of what Black did to him at TakeOver. Ultimately, Black was too hard to get back up on his feet and Johnny began climbing out while black reached for the cage door Tommaso Ciampa would come out and slam the door on Black before getting in the ring where Johnny and he you would hit the old DIY finisher on Black. Johnny conflictedly covers Black for the win as the announce team questioned whether or not these two men were back on the same page.

WINNER: Johnny Gargano.

This was a phenomenal match and I can’t remember the last time I saw so much story inside of a steel cage match. This is definitely one match that you should watch before the end of the year and it sets the scene very nicely for whatever they want to do going into Phoenix.
