Despite his fluency in the language, Owens is not a native English speaker. Being from Quebec, Canada, his first language is French. In fact, he didn’t even know how to speak English until he saw WWE. When watching WWE, he would constantly imitate Good Ol’ JR Jim Ross’ commentary on RAW, picking up the language in the process.
