Despite holding the Knockouts Championship and having victories with The Beautiful People, it would be a full year before Madison Rayne would get her first singles win at TNA. How do you become a champion and not have a singles win at all? It’s simple. Rayne and Velvet Sky teamed up against Angelina Love and Tara where both the Knockouts Tag Team titles and the Knockouts title was on the line. Rayne pinned Tara to hold both titles, being the only one to do so.
With the Knockouts Championship in hand, her first defense would see her take on Tara in a Title vs Career match. She was successful, getting her first singles win in the company after a full year. It would also mark the end of Tara’s TNA career for the time being.
