#1.) Rough childhood
We mentioned earlier that Ambrose had a rough upbringing. This is actually quite an understatement. Growing up in a dangerous part of Cincinnati, Ambrose was forced to sell drugs in order to not get beaten up. He had stated in an interview years prior to his WWE signing about the harsh realities of his life and how often he would get into fights.
For Ambrose, professional wrestling was an escape. It was an escape from the reality of his life and his way out of his life in Cincinnati. He had to overcome some major odds to become a professional wrestler and it’s a testament to his toughness, perhaps one of the main reasons why he’s WWE’s Ironman.
