#1.) Ricky Steamboat – WrestleMania III
There wasn’t going to be any other match. This was perhaps the best in-ring performance in the early era of WrestleMania. The two stole the entire show in front of over 85,000 people in the Pontiac Silverdome with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. In what can only be considered a masterclass performance, the two put on a match that would be influential for years to come.
Steamboat stated later on that he was shocked at just how meticulously Savage planned the match. He faxed him the sheets with how the match would play out, move-by-move. As it turns out, it worked and the two had one of the greatest matches ever, with Savage becoming Intercontinental Champion.
