From an in-ring standpoint, there was simply no match Andre The Giant had better than his match against Stan Hansen in 1981. The fact that Stan Hansen played an underdog babyface was a surprise to see, but he took Andre to limits that no one ever had.
It should be mentioned that Stan Hansen too lifted and bodyslammed Andre, doing it with the utmost ease. The match was chaos through and through, with young lions even interfering and trying to hold the two back when the referee was down. How Hansen and Andre went at it with non-stop aggression just went to show that Andre could really bring it in the ring when the opponent was right.
Ultimately, the match itself didn’t have a finish but the crowd was hot, the match was amazing and the chaos only added to the magic of it all. It was a testament as to how far Andre could go and saw a side of him that not many have seen.
