#1.) The origin of “The Anvil” Nickname
Jim Hart has long been known as The Anvil, a suitable term for him being the powerhouse of the Hart Foundation. But what’s the origin of this name? In his early training days at Stampede Wrestling, he went by the nickname The Animal. Stu Hart, seeing his potential wanted more notoriety for him and convinced to pay him $500 to enter an anvil toss at the Calgary Stampede.
Neidhart not only went, but he won the competition and the name has stuck since. While he may not have been the most popular of the Hart Foundation, his contributions and achievements can’t be overlooked. In the Golden Era of wrestling, he represented tag team mastery along with Bret. His legacy will live on and hopefully it someday translates into a WWE Hall Of Fame induction.
