#3.) Hulk Hogan vs The Rock – WrestleMania X8
It was Hogan’s return to the Toronto Skydome after twelve years. The last time he was there, he passed the torch to The Ultimate Warrior. This time, the stakes were even bigger. It was a dream match-up with then-face of the company The Rock. It was a match that nobody thought they would ever see, so when the two stood face-to-face, it was Icon vs Icon and the crowd loved every moment of it.
Since Hogan had just returned to WWE after nine years, the crowd was completely on his side. It wasn’t disrespecting to The Rock, but more of respect towards the legend in Hogan. Through the entire match, from start to finish, the crowd was on their feet and though he was part of the NWO, Hulkamania ran wild among 67,000+ people.
The Rock would win the match, prompting Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to turn on Hogan, but The Great One would help Hogan fight the two NWO members off, turning Hogan face in the process. It was the ultimate feel-good moment at WrestleMania and the next night on RAW, Hogan got the thunderous ovation that he deserved.
