#1.) Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 20
This is perhaps the most “controversial” moment on this list due to what would happen with Benoit just three years later. However, everything aside, at the time, it was a great underdog story that saw the underdog Chris Benoit pit up in the middle of Shawn Michaels and HHH’s rivalry.
In one of the greatest WrestleMania main events of all time, Benoit would submit The Game to become World Heavyweight Champion for the first and only time in his career. The night was capped off with Benoit standing tall in the ring with his long-time friend Eddie Guerrero, who held the WWE Championship.
It’s a shame that the moment isn’t viewed as positively now, but it’s understandable why. It was, however, the greatest match of Triple H’s career.
