#5.) Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens – Royal Rumble 2017
Roman Reigns had been feuding with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho over a month prior to the Royal Rumble. They had a bout for the Universal Championship at Roadblock: End Of The Line which ended in a DQ win for Kevin Owens.
The story heading in was that Chris Jericho always helped Kevin Owens retain the Universal title through nefarious means, so then-RAW General Manager Mick Foley made sure Chris Jericho was suspended above a shark cage for the Universal Championship bout at the Royal Rumble.
It should be noted that Chris Jericho had just won the United States Championship from Roman Reigns earlier that month, so The Big Dog had looked to capture the grand prize. Braun Strowman’s interference once again allowed Kevin Owens to retain, but prior to that, Reigns and Owens went to war in an instant classic in front of 40,000 people in the Alamodome.
