“SmackDown Live is the house that AJ Styles built”. This was a slogan echoed by The Phenomenal One throughout his run on the blue brand and it held true because he was the face of SmackDown Live, whether he was a heel or a babyface. In many ways, he was the biggest beneficiary of moving to SmackDown and though he isn’t a blue brand star anymore, he will always be one of the greatest stars in SmackDown history.
That near-3-year run alone was a legendary one and he spent almost half that time as a World Champion. Both runs with the WWE title were unforgettable and it was clear that he was the right choice to be SmackDown Live’s top babyface. There is nobody in this era that defines SmackDown more than AJ Styles does.
