#3.) Kevin Owens – 2016
In the second edition of the brand split, the draft was hosted in July 2016. Kevin Owens wasn’t a first-round pick and he was actually selected a lot later than what people anticipated, upsetting Owens himself. He had a big chip on his shoulder and a big opportunity would open up in rather unfortunate circumstances.
It was Finn Balor who got injured in his Universal Championship match at SummerSlam that year. He won the title, becoming the first champion. However, he had to vacate it a night later as his shoulder was dislocated and he required surgery. 8 days later, Kevin Owens would step up to the plate and win a Fatal-4-Way in shocking fashion to become the Universal Champion. He held the title for an impressive 6 months, being the best part of RAW during the time. He really benefited by being on RAW.
