WrestleMania 21 in 2005 was one of the most vital nights in the Ruthless Aggression era as it saw the coronation of the company’s two future stars – John Cena and Batista. It was clear that after that, they had become the two top stars of the entire company. Batista’s popularity was still higher at the time due to the epic Evolution storyline, but Cena would have a rise in his own right.
After Batista finished up with his rivalry against Triple H, fans were shocked in the draft when John Cena, the WWE Champion, moved to Monday Night RAW. It was a massive one and it saw an exchange where Batista took the World Heavyweight Championship to SmackDown. In retrospect, the move couldn’t have been timed any better.
