A year after he put over Roman Reigns, he did the same for Seth Rollins. This was another match that was reportedly planned for WrestleMania 32 but was scrapped due to Seth Rollins’ devastating injury in 2015. Regardless, he returned with a bang in 2016 and a couple of months later, he would turn face for the first time in over two years.
It was the perfect storyline because it was mentor vs teacher. Triple H turned on Rollins 8 days after SummerSlam, setting off a whole journey of a cat and mouse chase to get to The Game. It culminated at WrestleMania 33, where Triple H rightfully lost to Rollins via the pedigree. That would also mark the final time Rollins ever used the pedigree in WWE.
