#4.) vs Terry Funk – COTC IX
A babyface Ric Flair put the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on the line against one of the most important wrestlers of the 70s and 80s – Terry Funk. It was fresh off the heels of Flair’s legendary feud against Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Funk had established himself as a contender despite not being “inline”, according to Ric Flair.
It led to an “I Quit” match and as expected, the two legends would deliver in a big-time main event and they took each other to the limit, with Flair’s resiliency paying off as he made Terry Funk declare “I Quit” while trapping him in a Figure-Four leg lock.
