#5.) vs Lex Luger – COTC XII/Fall Brawl ’90
NWA and WCW knew how to make Lex Luger look like a star more than Vince McMahon ever did, even when he tried. Luger always looked like a legitimate star and there are few greater United States Champions in history than him. Around 1990, Flair would challenge Luger for the United States Championship and it turned out to be an intense bout where Luger legitimately put in a whole lot of work.
While Flair was obviously the highlight of the match, Luger truly held his own and looked like a star. Unfortunately, the physical match-up would end with DQ courtesy of Stan Hansen, but it was still a nicely executed finish.
