Hail To The King: Who Had The Best Reign As WWE King Of The Ring?

#5.) Bret Hart – 1991 & 1993

Bret Hart ended The Hart Foundation with Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and went on to a singles career. At SummerSlam 1991, he won the Intercontinental Championship and just two weeks later, he would end up winning the King of the Ring tournament. It was clear that WWE had big plans for Hart at the time and viewed him as a future top superstar.

He would go on to win the WWE title a year later and in 1993, he would once again wear the crown when it was turned into a PPV for the first time. However, this time, he was interrupted by Jerry “The King” Lawler, who took offense to the title and claimed to be the only royalty in the world of Sports Entertainment.

They would feud for two years on-and-off before it finally culminated with a Hart victory at 1995.
