‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s tenure on top wasn’t a long one, but it was perhaps the most impactful tenure in WWE history. Austin’s credentials and what he brought to the table needs no explanation and his career ended in the best possible way as well. He faced his greatest rival, The Rock, at WrestleMania XIX to conclude their trilogy and this time around, he put over The Rock clean as a whistle.
Nobody knew at the time that it was Austin’s retirement, but from a storyline perspective, it couldn’t have gone any better.
