WrestleMania 12’s main event was all set to see the coronation of The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, a man who had been working for years on end to reach the top. He competed for the WWF title before but had failed, including the year prior at WrestleMania 11. This time around, he faced his bitter rival Bret Hart in an Iron Man Match and ended up going the distance before he won 6 minutes into overtime.
As he sat in the center of the ring alone, it felt as though his destiny had been fulfilled at long last. This was when Vince McMahon made the iconic call “The boyhood dream has come true”
