Who can forget The Rock vs Brock? Lesnar was hardly a few months into his WWE debut run and he was already tearing through the roster, having big wins over names like Hulk Hogan. He won the King of the Ring tournament in his debut year, earning a WWE Championship opportunity against The Rock, who already seemingly had one foot out of the door to Hollywood.
So the stage was set for Madison Square Garden and the beloved People’s Champion was surprisingly booed due to his commitments to Hollywood. The crowd welcomed Lesnar, who decimated The Rock in a great match to win his first WWE Championship. It was a push unlike any other and Lesnar was on fire early on.
