#4.) Triple H vs ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – No Mercy
In October 1999, the dynamic of things were entirely different. The Rock had been a babyface again for months and was hotter than ever, while Triple H cemented his main event status after winning the WWF Championship and he had to face Austin in an “Anything goes” match.
The match had a lot of good psychology, with Triple H targetting the knee that he went for even during their rivalry in the summer. The Rock was the difference maker in this match. Looking to get a little revenge on Triple H, he attempted to smack him with the sledgehammer, but he missed and knocked Austin out instead.
Triple H pedigreed The Rock and then pinned Austin, retaining the title by a stroke of luck.
