#3.) Stan Hansen
There were few men on the planet scarier than Stan Hansen. If you take one look at him in his prime, you may not be intimidated at first. After all, he had a very normal body shape and walked around with a rope in his cowboy attire. But when he went in the ring, there was nobody like him.
He earned even more fame in Japan than he did in United States, primarily because he was viewed and treated as a legitimate main eventer in All Japan Pro Wrestling, his main home for nearly two full decades. He was a 4-time AJPW Triple Crown Champion, having beaten the likes of Jumbo Tsuruta, Mitsuhara Misawa and Terry Gordy for the title.
He was a truly celebrated figure and his style was complementary to Japan, primarily due to how stiff it was. He had terrible eyesight and even then, put on several classics. He would retire in early 2001, receiving a hero’s farewell.
