There was never going to be any other match topping this list. The unique encounter between two all-time greats was a mouth-watering affair to think of. It all began at the Royal Rumble, where Michaels eliminated Angle and the Olympic Gold Medalist bitterly ejected Michaels from the match himself.
The seeds were planted and it would lead to an inter-brand match at WrestleMania 21. The feud was a mix of seriousness, intensity and comedy, with both superstars doing their very best at it. The match itself was nothing short of magic and it tore the roof down. As expected, it was the match of the year. Kurt Angle won the first match. While fans were behind HBK, there was certainly a lot of respect for Angle and his abilities as a performer. Those two were on another level and it was clearly seen in the match.
