#2.) Defeating Diamond Dallas Page at Halloween Havoc 1998
Goldberg’s Halloween Havoc match against DDP was bar none, his greatest-ever WCW match. It was a very simple story, not involving heels or faces or any such thing. It was a straightforward face vs face contest, and DDP, who claimed that he had the secret to beating Goldberg, came closer than anyone ever had before, as he hit the Diamond Cutter on Goldberg, only to fail.
Goldberg ended up picking a hard-fought victory, but unfortunately, the match ran overtime on PPV, which was terrible planning on WCW’s part. They had to follow up on the disastrous Hulk Hogan vs Warrior match, and they did so with great success, as the crowd was molten hot.
