The tag team champions British Bulldog and Owen Hart began to disintegrate after the latter’s jealousy. Bulldog defeated Hart in a tournament finals to become the new European Champion, and soon after, their partnership seemingly dissolved, with Owen Hart challenging Bulldog for the title.
It turned out to be an instant classic, with the two proving to have great chemistry against one another. While Bulldog did retain, the post-match angle was what really took people by surprise. Bret Hart came out and told them to unite for the sake of family, and this was the beginning of the New Hart Foundation.
