#4.) Diesel–Bob Backlund– November 1994
In a shocking move at Survivor Series ’94, Bob Backlund manipulated Bret Hart’s family into throwing in the towel in a submission match against The Excellence Of Execution, becoming World Champion for the first time in over a decade. However, little did anyone know that his reign would be short-lived.
Just 3 days afterwards, Diesel, who had recently turned babyface, replaced an “injured” Bret Hart at a Madison Square Garden House show, facing Bob Backlund for the title. It took him a whopping 8 seconds to hit the Jackknife Powerbomb and become WWF Champion. The shocking title win would set him on a 358-day title reign.
