The name “Elimination Chamber” has been around since 2002 in all but one country – Germany. In Germany, the Elimination Chamber PPV and match is known as “No Escape”. Why? Because Germany and its government have been sensitive about the Nazi rule in the past and the humanitarian atrocities.
The thought process is that by using the name “Elimination Chamber”, it will bring back thoughts and imagery of the gas chambers used by the Nazis during World War 2. It may sound bizarre, but it’s an understandable move, especially from a marketing perspective. Germany has tried very hard to move on from the past.
