A few months before their WrestleMania encounter, Alexander and Mustafa Ali engaged in a friendly match-up. Don’t make any mistakes about it. They shook hands and showed sportsmanship, but once the bell rung, there was no friendship. They methodically worked the pace of their match and increased the speed and momentum, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats.
It would soon evolve into an all-out brawl, with stiff strikes and counter after counter. At one point, it seemed like they were both just running on pure instinct. It was one mistake that Ali made when going for the 054 that cost him the match, as Alexander finished him with the lumbar check. Post-match, Alexander raised Ali’s hand in respect.
