#5.) Tomohiro Ishii vs Hirooki Goto – G1 Climax 28 Day 6
It’s been argued that G1 Climax 28 has been one of the best in recent memory, and it’s hard to argue. With such a heavy flurry of high-quality matches throughout, it certainly was a memorable tournament with an even more memorable ending. One of the matches that went slightly under the radar in comparison to other big matches was the contest between Ishii and Goto.
It was a battle between two veterans with big hearts, but even bigger egos. The story of the match was them trying to one-up each other in terms of dishing out punishment, and did fans ever feel it! The ambiance was electric as the two superstars did everything in their power to put down the other. It was the Stone Pitbull Ishii who walked out with the win, but Goto deserved all the respect in the world for that performance.
