#4.) Asuka
Asuka’s year has been a mixed bag of sorts, but an historic one nonetheless. Asuka is no stranger to history and glory, as she held the NXT Women’s Championship for 510 days (WWE recognizes it as 523) and became the longest reigning champion in NXT history. Her undefated streak continued on the main roster and she would go on to win the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live was the champion she chose to face and the dream match took place at the grandest stage of them all. They had an incredible match and Charlotte broke the streak. Since that point, Asuka moved to the blue brand and was somewhat floundering despite having challenged for the title two more times (albeit unsuccessfully). Her year finally took a turn for the better when she got involved in Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch’s feud.
At TLC, she main evented the PPV and beat both superstars to become SmackDown Women’s Champion – her first main roster title
