Stylistically, there are few better match-ups for Matt Riddle than the Technical Wizard Zack Sabre Jr. It’s no secret that Sabre uses a more grappling-based ground game in his style of wrestling and the fact that Riddle has an amateur wrestling background himself made for an interesting bout.
With Sabre’s grappling, he’s usually seen dominating his opponents, but Riddle managed to execute som very clever counters and it wasn’t as easy for Sabre on the ground. Although the crowd wasn’t as much into this as they should have been, it was technical masterclass and showed that Riddle has diversity as a performer in the ring. This is one of the key elements that will play into his future success.
