#3.) Hogan and Sting face off
When Hollywood Hogan and Sting faced off at Starrcade 1997, it was almost a year in the making. The storyline had drawn a lot of viewers, as Sting made a complete character change, going from the bleach-blonde surfer babyface to a mysterious character like The Crow. He was the nWo’s biggest opposition and the storyline saw ratings skyrocket. It had been a long time since Sting wrestled and it all culminated at Starrcade 1997.
When Hogan and Sting faced off, it felt like one of the biggest moments in wrestling history. Although the match would be spoiled by controversy due to a “fast” pin by referee Nick Patrick. The match also saw the debut of Bret Hart in WCW.
