Chris Jericho’s 5 Greatest Rivalries

#5.) The Rock

When Chris Jericho debuted in WWE in 1999, he confronted none other than one of the two biggest stars in the company – The Rock. The fact that he went after The Rock instantly put him on another level and through his rivalry with The Rock, he proved that he was one of the very few superstars who could go toe-to-toe with The Great One on the mic.

The Rock and Jericho had incredible chemistry together and their segments together were absolute fire. Their comedic timing was also off the charts. They feuded over the world title, even briefly exchanging the WCW version of it. They were both on Team WWF during the invasion angle and it was a bad time as Jericho’s jealousy of The Rock seemed to reach a peak. He attacked The Rock at Survivor Series, almost costing team WWF the win.

They later had a match in a mini-tournament to crown the new Undisputed WWE Champion and Y2J defeated The Rock and then ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to become the first-ever undisputed champion.
