#5.) Appearing at NJPW in 2017
While some of you may be surprised that this makes a list, it’s here for a very significant reason. Chris Jericho finished an incredible run in WWE around May 2017 (making a one-off a couple of months later). While fans wondered when he would return, they just assumed that he was busy with Fozzy and the several other commitments he has.
When Chris Jericho appeared in NJPW in 2017 and began a feud with Kenny Omega, it took the entire wrestling world by shock. By appearing for NJPW, he proved that not only was he not bound by WWE, but he was such a hot commodity that he could go wherever he wanted and do whatever he wanted as well.
The feud with Omega culminated in a Wrestle Kingdom 12 match, which turned out to be one of the greatest of Jericho’s career.
