Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit had been feuding on-and-off for a good part of 2000. Their feud culminated at Royal Rumble 2001, where they battled in one of the greatest ladder matches of all time. You’re likely aware about a lot of ladder match classics such as Shawn Michaels–Razor Ramon but this is one that certainly gets overlooked, which is surprising considering how great it was.
Benoit and Jericho had natural chemistry together and they put on an instant classic at the Rumble, with Jericho successfully making the ascent to become a 4-time Intercontinental Champion.
