#1.) Money In The Bank 2011
The greatest night of CM Punk’s career came in his hometown of Chicago. The Pipebomb got a lot more eyes on his WWE title feud and the build to the match was of one of the greatest in history. CM Punk’s WWE contract was legitimately expiring around the time of Money In The Bank and WWE used that for the storyline, with Punk threatening to take the WWE title to ROH and defend it unless there was going be a change in the system.
The heated storyline culminated at Money In The Bank, where Punk was the overwhelming fan favorite (and even that’s an understatement). He soaked in the reaction of the hometown crowd, whose energy he fed off of during the match. He ended up winning the title after Vince McMahon‘s interference and attempted screwjob repeated had backfired. Cena wanted to win it the fairway, but it cost him his title.
McMahon then tried to get MITB holder Alberto Del Rio to cash in, but he failed as well. The final shot was nothing short of iconic and will go down as one of the greatest moments in WWE history.
