1. Paige Retires And Becomes SmackDown General Manager
Unfortunately, an incident at a live event would end Paige’s in-ring career. During a tag team match, should be on the receiving end of a kick from Sasha Banks and the effects of the accident whether it be kick itself or the fall left her momentarily paralyzed and ultimately forced her into retirement.
In a cruel twist of fate, Paige was forced to retire the day after WrestleMania 34 exactly four years after she had made her main roster debut. She gave a wonderful speech and begin a new chapter in her career as the very next made she accepted the role of SmackDown General Manager from Daniel Bryan who was returning from what was believed to be a career-ending injury of his own.
Paige has done very well in this role so far, and the sky is the limit for her in the future because she is so talented and so knowledgeable for the industry and who’s to say that she doesn’t make a comeback of her own one day? If that were to happen, she would be welcomed with open arms because it is still her house.
