#3.) Faced Ric Flair in the first and last Nitro
The first-ever Monday Night Nitro was a historic event for wrestling as it not only was a big deal for WCW but it was the start of the Monday Night Wars. In the first show, Sting, then the WCW United States Champion, took on Ric Flair. Interestingly enough, the final match of WCW Nitro in 2001 was main evented by Sting and Ric Flair in the conclusion of their long-standing rivalry.
Vince McMahon himself personally chose the main event and it certainly showed respect to both performers. Flair himself admitted to being relieved when WCW shut but felt bad for all the superstars who lost their jobs.
