Sting’s 5 Greatest Matches

#5.) WarGames – WrestleWar 1991

WarGames matches were known to be bloody but this was perhaps the bloodiest in history. Brian Pillman and Sting teamed with the Steiner Brothers to take on The Four Horsemen. It was Brian Pillman and Barry Windham who started the action and the young, athletic Pillman used the low cage ceiling to his advantage.

Of course, it wasn’t long before the blood started pouring and once it started, it didn’t really seem to stop. Sid Vicious would hit two consecutive powerbombs on Pillman, knocking him out cold. It was then that El Gigante (Giant Gonzales in WWE) came to check on Pillman and told the referee to stop the match. While that may be underwhelming as a finish for many, it seemed like quite a realistic one.
