#4.) The stuttering gimmick
In 2003, Goldust was the victim of an attack by Evolution members Randy Orton and Batista. The assault saw him get electrocuted by a Round Tube right in the nether regions. WWE stated that the electrocution deeply disturbed his mind and speech. After that, he began a gimmick where he would talk in stutters and express Tourette’s-like behavior.
This was naturally a very sensitive matter to be dealing with and the fact that he was ridiculed on-screen by several top superstars didn’t exactly help. One thing is for sure, that storyline simply would not work today.
