#5.) vs Randy Orton – RAW 2013
Around September of 2013, Cody Rhodes was fired by the Authority for speaking out against them (This was to write him off so he could get married and go on a honeymoon). The storyline saw the return of Goldust, who took on then-WWE Champion Randy Orton with the stipulation that if he won, Cody Rhodes would be hired back.
While Goldust was unsuccessful, his return match certainly wasn’t. He proved that after a year away from WWE, he hadn’t lost it, but he had gotten better. He was able to hang with Randy Orton and prove that there was a lot more to his character than meets the eye.
