#2.) Retiring Lita
2006 may have been Mickie James’ strongest year as a performer. She had received a major push that saw her win the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time. She lost the title to Lita around August of that year and the two embroiled in a feud after Trish Stratus won the title from Lita and retired.
At first, Lita beat James in a tournament final at Cyber Sunday for the Women’s Championship but had to defend it 21 days later at Survivor Series. In her retirement match, Lita dropped the title back to James before getting an unfortunately humiliating send-off. While Lita wasn’t deserving of a bad send-off, it’s still an impressive feat in James’ resume to have retired one of the greatest Women in WWE history.
