It was July 5th, 1999 and the young upstart Hardy Boyz, then managed by Michaels “P.S” Hayes were looking to get their first taste of gold. The men they had to beat? The Acolytes. On an episode of RAW, The Hardy Boyz took on the Acolytes in a quick match-up for the tag team championships.
Thanks to a momentary distraction, the Hardyz beat The Acolytes to capture their first tag team championships. It was the first of many tag team accolades for Matt & Jeff and proved that WWE saw something special in them very early on.
