It was Rusev’s first WrestleMania and he was defending the United States Championship against the franchise player, John Cena. It was a great position for Rusev to be in for his debut ‘Mania. It was also an interesting position for Cena as he was slowly transitioning out of his top guy and full-time role.
Rusev made one of the most memorable entrances in WrestleMania when he entered in a tank (that’s right – a tank!). His undefeated streak was also on the line and after a great match, Cena defeated him, ending his streak and capturing the United States title in the process. Cena would go on to have the best US title run of the decade following this.
