WWE Intercontinental Championship
The Miz found his opponent for No Mercy in the main event of WWE RAW. Jason Jordan won a Six Pack Challenge to end the night and get a chance to face The Miz at No Mercy for the WWE Championship. It was a great main event and Jason Jordan is an IC type contender. I like how WWE is trying to make Jordan feel like the upset one, not wanting to get booed and people looking at him differently in the locker room. When he arrived in WWE with Chad Gable, people loved them and loved the idea that American Alpha could be the next great tag team. This storyline is so fake that fans turned their backs on him. That is reason number one. The second reason is that Jason Jordan is still very fresh outside of a tag team and fans dislike his music and entrance. He reminds me of Rocky Maivia, coming out with a big smile on his face and wanting the fans to automatically back him.
All of these are reasons why I think The Miz wins and retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He is the definition of the Intercontinental Championship. WWE wants him to hold the title longer and more accumulative dates than the men that preceded him. When you look at this feud, I think you need to have Miz win here, go into a Survivor Series type match with his Miztourage and somehow keep the title until Royal Rumble. Then, you can decide where you really want to go with The Miz heading into the most important months in WWE.
RAW Tag Team Championship
Cesaro and Sheamus will try to regain the championships when they do battle with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. I go back and forth on if I really like what they are doing with Seth and Dean. Some weeks, they are great and their matches impress me with how they act together. Other weeks, I cannot stand why all they are trying to do is be slapstick funny, which is not funny in the least bit. You saw this on WWE RAW, where Dean got upset that he was called a nerd. Anderson and Gallows are funny saying this, Dean is not when he reacts to it.
I think that Seth and Dean could lose the titles to Cesaro and Sheamus, giving them another opportunity in a month. There is much more for this feud that can be developed, but a loss to Cesaro and Sheamus pretty much end their chances, right? I think this match will be spectacular, with 20 minutes of time and four great competitors. If it ends dirty or confrontational, that’s okay. It will be hard for the RAW teams to trump what the Smackdown Live tag teams did. Let the tag teams just work a damn good match and see what happens after. I would also love more edge from Ambrose, not this fluffy comedian who isn’t funny.
