Hot Start To WWE RAW

WWE RAW started with Kurt Angle announcing who will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Braun Strowman comes out and makes his case, followed by Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns. All men get into each others face and then Kurt Angle announces that it will be a Fatal Four Way for the Universal Championship. The three men cannot be contained, as a fight starts. Roman and Joe target Braun and then Joe punches and knocks down the Big Dog. Braun gets back up and disposes the ring of the security. The locker room comes out and tries to keep everyone apart. Braun ends the segment with massive powerslams.

This was the hot start needed for WWE RAW. One of the best decisions in a long time happened tonight, as a Fatal Four Way is announced for SummerSlam. These four guys are head and shoulders more important than anyone else on the RAW roster and all deserve an opportunity to be champion. The match, with four men, is going to be special. The booking of it might be complicated at first, but I do think it will shine a spotlight on some of the best performers that WWE RAW has right now. Also, all four men are so different, yet similar in what they do in the ring. Tonight proved that and proved that Braun should be the favorite heading into Brooklyn.

Elias Shines, Finn’s Next Opponent Attacks

A No Disqualification Match between Elias Samson and Finn Balor took place and was another solid performance for both men. I was skeptical of having this feud so early in the career of Samson, but the guy has a great look and potential to be something unique. The action was physical and intense, with Steel Chairs and stairs used many times. Finn was in control and looking to end the night of Samson, but the lights went out and Bray Wyatt appeared to hit Sister Abigail on Balor. Samson picks up the win.

Elias wins, albeit dirty, and Finn Balor is closed to bringing out the Demon King persona. This HAS to be what all of this is about, having Finn try and defeat a God-like figure by transforming into the Demon King. Their match at SummerSlam helps them stay important and relevant in a stacked card that will span across four hours. The creativity needs to pick up and needs to have more about Bray and Finn now than Elias and Finn.

As for Samson, a nice appearance at SummerSlam would be nice, but it might not be possible.
